adidas is back drawing from its inexhaustible
Just in case there weren’t currently enough pink sneaker options on the market, adidas ultra boost
will soon be offering one more. The pink sneaker trend continues with
the Ultra Boost 3.0, which will arrive later this summer in a “Trace
Pink” colorway. Actually more grey than pink, the Primeknit upper
features a dark grey base with the 3.0 style striping in the light pink
shade. Translucent grey cages match the Primeknit, while a lighter grey
heel counter completes the upper. Utilizing a confetti-inspired motif
that drapes the sneaker’s Primeknit construction in a rainbow-like
spectrum, the eye-catching aesthetic is perfectly offset by tonal White
utilized for its Three Stripe caging sytem, TPU heel overlay and
comfortable Boost sole unit.
adidas pure boost
is back drawing from its inexhaustible well-spring of Ultra Boost
inspiration, this time readying 20 colorways for a new 4.0 model slated
to drop in 2018. The news came courtesy of the Yeezy Mafia, who tweeted
an image featuring over 20 Boosts in all kinds of colors, including
“Mint Green,” “Triple White,” “Oreo,” “Triple Black” and many more.
There appears to be a return of the matte cage and black midsole, and
Ultra Boost fanatics will also note differences in the Primeknit pattern
from the 3.0 model, too. Arguably the biggest difference is the new
linear knitted pattern on the 4.0, which significantly changes the look
of the shoe’s toe box.
This new collaborative colorway of the Parley x adidas energy boost
3.0 comes constructed out of a White Primeknit upper that is made out
of reusing an average of 11 plastic bottles per pair. Even the laces,
heel webbing, heel counter, heel lining and sock liner covers are made
from recycled PET material. The new colorway recalls the coral bleaching
crisis threatening the oceans, and is also symbolic of the white flag
humanity should raise in order to make peace with the oceans, to end
marine plastic pollution with a collaborative approach: The Parley AIR
Strategy which stands for ‘Avoiding’ the use of plastic, ‘Intercepting’
plastic waste and ‘Redesigning’ the plastic material itself.
Ronnie Fieg introduced the adidas response 3
Boost with his “Aspen Collection”, but the offering was definitely
overshadowed by the adidas Ultra Boost Mid featuring the Multi-Color
array of Primeknit throughout. Now the updated winterized model finally
gets some shine on its own through this New York-centric release
featuring vibrant shades of Energy Orange and Core Blue for a look
perfect for those of you who double as Mets and Knicks fans. The Boost
cushioning system is exposed on the heel while premium neoprene touches
add a weather resistant finish in a stylish color blocking perfect for
New York’s faithful.
