His father, Late Mr. Pashupati Bhattacharya was a music teacher and his mother is Mrs. Kishena Bhattacharya. Arijit has two elder sisters, Purnima Roy and Pallabi Roy. He did his schooling from Raja Bijay Singh High School,Murshidabad and later he completed his graduation from Sripat Singh College, Kolkata with a major in Physics.
Arijit always had a passion for music and used to participate in various singing competitions during his school and college days. In 2005, he took part in the reality show Fame Gurukul but could not make it to the finals. 

However, this did not deter him and he continued to pursue his passion for music. In 2011, he participated in another reality show called Jo Jeeta Wohi Superstar 2 and emerged as the winner of the show. This victory gave him a big break in the Indian music industry.
Arijit Singh has sung many popular songs like "Tum Hi Ho" from the movie Aashiqui 2 (2013), "Gerua" from the movie Dilwale (2015), "Ae Dil Hai Mushkil" from the movie Ae Dil Hai Mushkil (2016), and many more.

He has also sung some popular Bengali songs like "Jodi Tor Dak Shune Keu Na Ase Tobe Ekla Cholo Re" from the movie Autograph (2010). He has won numerous awards such as Best Male Playback Singer at the Filmfare Awards for both Hindi and Bengali categories for his song "Tum Hi Ho" from Aashiqui 2.

Sunidhi Chauhan

Chauhan began her career as a child singer on television shows and radio stations. She made her film debut as a playback singer with the song "Mehbooba Mehbooba" from the film Shaadar Ki Girl (2001). 

Chauhan's first major hit came with the song "Ruki Ruki Si Zindagi" from the film Maqsad (2004). She has gone on to sing many popular songs in Hindi films, such as "O O Jaane Jaana", "Deedar De", "Ishq Kamina", "Beedi", "Chingari Koi Bhadke", and many others.

The band's debut album, A Whole New Thing, was released in 1967 to critical acclaim, but their 1969 album Stand! Made them international stars. The album featured the hit singles "Everyday People" and "I Want to Take You Higher", reaching number one on the Billboard Hot 100 chart.

James Brown
