Not too often do online magic tricks come along that promises to take a budding young amateur magician and offer to take his or her minuscule talent from that of a zero to a hero in the amount of time it takes to make a pot of coffee. One of the websites I'm talking about online is Ellusionist, there's a few others out there but Ellusionist seem to be the King of the hill when it comes to marketing and promoting magic now and days. The tricks revealed to you at Ellusionist (for a hefty price of course) are supposed to turn you into a master magician that has everyone bowing at your feet with just a little practice.

The reality is often times, learning online magic tricks from sites like Ellusionist and Penguinmagic.com leave their younger customers upset and unhappy, because they fail to mention how much work goes into each effect, showing how many people ooh! and ahhh over a professional magician showing an intoxicated or lay audience magic tricks can be a little deceptive if your not explaining that some of the footage is edited or most of the audience in the promo video were drunk and just came from the bar, that's why they fell down after seeing the effect. That being said, there are many good Ellusionist tricks on the market but if we are being fair, some of the tricks promoted by Ellusionist are way over hyped and over priced.

Many people have reverted to using YouTube to find out online magic tricks, all you have to do is type in the name of an effect and your sure to find some 10yr old showing how the trick is done under the title "Ellusionist Trick Revealed" or some amateur magician performing for his friends and the trick get exposed because he hasn't practiced enough and his angles are off, or just type the phrase in Google "Ellusionist tricks revealed" and your sure to get a host of websites showing you how to do whatever effect you desire. My point is, maybe it's time to take it back to the old school if we want magic to stop being exposed, I remember when the only place you could learn magic was at a magic shop, that's when magic had that special feeling that seems to be lost now and days, I don't know, I'm just wondering what's happened to magic, it seems like the mystery and amazement of going to the magic shops has been replaced with glossy over hyped over price modern day commercialism that has took a little of the magic out of magic.
