With a couple caveats, this came of course --the sport is only on Android devices and only to players who have a monthly subscription. The game will likely follow the exact same path of Old School RuneScape (OSRS) as it published on cellular last year. That is, after a short delay the game will be free to play with users as well as available to iOS owners. But, will RuneScape Mobile share its older sibling's achievement? Will it do enough to rejuvenate a stagnating playerbase?
Its population was not doing so hot last year, when OSRS started on mobile devices. That's not to say that the game hemorrhaged players, instead it was not able to pull in new ones--it turned out to be a stagnant game. According MisplacedItems, the game was holding constant around 50,000 concurrent users as much as the release of OSRS Mobile. The game saw a boost in players right around October of 2018 a subsequent explosion in the months after the game debut. The amount of concurrent users skyrocketed, shooting up at any given time to almost 200,000.
Naturally, this incredible achievement was short-lived. The port to the small screen functioned, although casual players slowly left the buy RuneScape Mobile gold match. OSRS has laid out a route to achievement and revealed that this strategy could operate.
